June 2012
Obviously this has to happen now, how crazy. I’m actually the chair of the student cinema and I made sure that Moonrise Kingdom had a prime place in the new schedule!
Are you kidding!? The University of York or St. John? If it’s at Uni of York you can count me in, I’ve just finished my second year there!
Mine too, but I think that some people either love it or hate it. It’s a film that you really need to give more of a chance, I think! And also the more times you watch it the faster and more enjoyable it becomes. When I watch it now I feel like I’m watching a group of old friends, I think that loving Team Zissou automatically makes you a member. - JM

Does Wes Anderson Hate Dogs?
(via heroicallywelladjusted)
Who knew Wesley was so popular in Scotland? This pleases me! :D
I was actually just visiting some internet friends up there (one from Switzerland and another from The Netherlands) but I am from the UK. I live sometimes in York and sometimes near London but I go to a lot of meetings with friends in various cities in the UK and abroad.
It’s crazy actually. Next January I would have known an online group of close international friends for 10 years. That’s like my entire teenage life. I love the internet.
It’s possible that I will arrange a Wes meetup in the future, but I get the feeling thet Wes fans are sometimes quiet (like I can be sometimes) and might not want to attend! We shall see.
Edinburgh is lovely, btw. I have visited about 3 times in the last year and plan to go to the Fringe festival later this summer!

I got mine from cafepress, but its one with the flag logo on rather than the intern symbol. I also got a hoodie from cafepress. I just googled ‘Zissou intern tshirt’ and quite a few links come up from other websites, though! - JM
today at Edinburgh Waverly station I saw a guy walk past me in a Zissou intern t-shirt. This was such a rare and special occasion that I didn’t know what to do. I only wish I was wearing my own Life Aquatic shirt. /life of a raving Wes Anderson fan.
The New Yorker is ON IT, guys. (This is actually great, go read it.)
Amazing, I can’t say I ever noticed this Wes Anderson trope before!
I recommend you buy the DVD due to the special features. I watch quite a lot online but I’ve never looked up The Life Aquatic. Maybe a follower can message you with details of where to find it. I usually try alluc.org first.
I’m sure I’ve seen that image around, I’ll try to find it or maybe someone will submit the image for me! :) - JM
