Let me just start by saying that it does live up to any good expectations you could hold for it.
From the trailer and from the genre the film has given across to people it’s easy to think that Wes might have dumbed it down a little, made it more mainstream to fit in with the usual market - the market Roald Dahl usually sells seats to. But the case here is that he manages to do both.
